Still blogging about cities in Belgium this week. Don’t worry, this will be the last one in this series, at least for this moment. In my previous blogpost I have written about where to eat the best chocolate in Bruges. Now I want to share with you the five things to do in Bruges according to my experience.
I am an Indonesian living in the Netherlands. As part of the Asian communities living abroad, I do have to admit that I still carry on some of the best (well I think it is still the best) Asian traditions while living abroad, such as the food tradition. Luckily I live in the Netherlands. Since the post colonial period there have been so many exotic, especially Indonesian, products in the Netherlands and dishes such as nasi goreng (fried rice) has become a common dish.
I have to tell you. If you go to Italy, Florence is one of the must visit cities, even though only for one day. I have been in Firenze (Florence or Fiorentina, you name it) in 2010 and was extremely delighted by … well… the charms of the city. It is not Rome, It is not Venice… It’s Firenze. It’s Tuscany in a city. When you have just arrived at the train station Santa Maria Novella, you won’t believe me but when you are at Piazza Michelangelo, you will know what I mean.
We planned to just stay in the Netherlands this summer but I could not resist when I saw cheap ticket price from Ryan Air last June. Where to go? Call me cliché but I got my travel inspiration after seeing the movie “Under the Tuscany Sun” on the television. So, Italy it was!
Si, si, si!
