Just like in other parts of the world where they celebrate Christmas, the Netherlands also celebrates it with two weeks school holiday and ends after New Year’s day (this year a week after New Year’s day). So what do you do, when you also have two weeks off from work, but your husband do not? There’s goes tropical island! Bye bye! So for us this year is staying-at-home kind of holiday. Desperate searching for activities for you and your kids? Well, you’re not alone, sister! But here’s what we have done so far this week.
So I have been to these places, where they have food, lots of food and everything related to food. The Netherlands seems to be craving for trendy food markets where you can sit back, relax and enjoy your food with your loved ones but without the fuss of being apt and elegant. Street food and healthy organic dishes have also become THE thing here. I know, for those of you in America, this is so yesterday, right?
Due to a few hectic days at work I was not able to post anything last week. But I am back! This time I interviewed one of my girlfriends. Her name is Anda, an Indonesian girl, lives in Brussels, a travel fanatic and a blogger. She travels a lot! I have asked her several times whether she would love to be featured on my blog to share her travel encounters. Finally, the moment is here. Having seen all of her photos on social media when she was in Switzerland made me wonder where the best places are and why. I asked Anda to tell me more about travelling in Switzerland and here is what she tells me.
You obviously know that Indonesia is in Southeast Asia and that Bali is one of the main attractions. Doh! You already know that since elementary school. Indonesia is so diverse. It has various landscapes, ethnic groups, languages and dialects, beliefs and habits. Are you thinking about your winter escape at the moment? Why not Indonesia? When Indonesia is the main topic, allow me to share some insider tips about places and habits that maybe, just maybe, many travellers have not discovered it.
Last Monday I explored Amsterdam again. I love to spend my day off alone, just wandering the city (any city, actually) hearing the hustle and bustle of how a city life can be on a Monday morning. Yes, my day off is Monday morning. So when everybody hate Monday, I tend to, well… love it. I went to Amsterdam Zuid yesterday and found some hidden gems that I want to share it with you.
